Curious about backpacking but not sure where to start? Join Recess Club and REI for a beginner-friendly Backpacking Basics workshop designed to help you feel confident, prepared, and excited for your first overnight adventure.
Whether you're joining us for the upcoming Recess Club backpacking trip or simply want to learn a new outdoor skill, this class will cover the essentials of getting started: gear selection, packing your backpack, trail safety, camp setup, water filtration, meal planning, Leave No Trace principles, and more.
At Recess Club, we believe adults need play, adventure, and time outside. Our mission is to help more women build confidence in the outdoors while creating meaningful community along the way. This workshop is designed to make backpacking feel accessible, approachable, and fun—no experience necessary.
Come ready to learn, ask questions, and discover how empowering it can be to carry everything you need on your back and spend a night under the stars.
